lamelife.

Wow. I'm back.

School has been soooooo hard!!! Gosh. Senior year is not like high school senior year.
PRAY FOR ME!

Interesting things so far:
-Finding a church is harder than I thought
-I live vicariously through the girls' volleyball team
-I have never appreciated my weekends as I do now
-I have probably seen more movies this semester than I have in the past year.

Not that interesting huh? ahahaha....ha.

ourGodisGreater.

This song by Chris Tomlin is soooo good! It makes me smile and burn for Jesus just listening to it!

And if Our God is for us, then who could ever stop us
And if our God is with us, then what can stand against?
And if Our God is for us, then who could ever stop us
And if our God is with us, then what can stand against?
What can stand against?

I often get so wrapped up in things around me that I forget God. I'm reading The Shack right now. There are so many truths in that book! i've never highlighted that much in a non-textbook :D

When I listen to this song His power and majestic voice rings through my body. Then follows a flow of guilt for not spending as much time with Him as I should...or as I could.

I hope this song awakens many other Christians who are sleeping.

drowning.

I tried writing to express what I've been pondering about. But nothing made sense.

All i know is that I'm surrounded by people of two different ends of the spectrum. I don't know when i'll find anyone like me.
Travvie McCoy's Billionaire song is the most ridiculous song ever.

I wanna be a billionaire so fricking bad
Buy all of the things I never had
Uh, I wanna be on the cover of Forbes magazine
Smiling next to Oprah and the Queen

[Chorus]
Oh every time I close my eyes
I see my name in shining lights
A different city every night oh
I swear the world better prepare
For when I’m a billionaire

Yea. I wish people wouldn't so focused on money.
sigh. Jesus take me now.

So I was on Biola's website and glanced at the name DAVID CHOI! It said he was at chapel!
I WAS FREAKING OUT! Like, how could I miss this?!?!?!? And how come I didn't know?!?!?!

Well, it was some other David Choi.

the world.

was empty.
but now f i l l e d.

same with us.

Why do we as human beings always search for acceptance? Why is it a natural need? I don't like it. Why can't we just sit still and be happy knowing that GOD is all we need and want and even more? It's because we are lowly human beings that cannot even begin to understand what fully knowing God can be like. There are those though that are closer to God than most. I'd say they shine brighter than most too.
I want to [shine].

hmm.

So, as you know, I really like Michelle Phan. However, over the past few days I've realized that she's actually kinda uninspiring to me. It's not that she's a bad person, she does a lot of charity work...it's not that she offended me in any way, she always remains likable...i think it's just that she's not living a life that's most attractive to me. Maybe the fact that she's a Christian has to do with it too. I have higher expectations of her now, and she's kind of not meeting them...weird huh? ahh...is that bad? I think it is....but yeah. She's not as BIG of a deal anymore.

But I still like her, and watch her videos :D

hallelujah.

The song "Hallelujah" by Leonard Cohen is super popular. You may not have noticed it before but the song is actually talking about Samson (the super strong guy in the Bible) and David (the mighty king in the Bible). Also, the world "hallelujah" means to praise the Lord. SOOOOO many people sing this song, especially big named artists. I always wonder if they realize that this song is actually a Christian song. Also, it makes me wonder whether they have faith.

"We are the World" is another great song. There's a line in it that says "we're all a part of God's great big family." When the celebrities sing this, do they really mean it? Or how about those who say the Pledge of Allegiance, there's a line that says, "ONE nation, under GOD." This nation was founded under ONE God. Even the dollar bills say "in God we trust."

It's just strange to me how God's name is in many places even in the secular community. But how come people's eyes are still closed? It's a calling for us, those who already know the Lord.

Slightly got off track, but I was just wondering mostly about the song "Hallelujah."

Now I've heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?
It goes like this
The fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah

Your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you
She tied you
To a kitchen chair
She broke your throne, and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah

Baby I have been here before
I know this room, I've walked this floor
I used to live alone before I knew you.
I've seen your flag on the marble arch
Love is not a victory march
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

There was a time you let me know
What's really going on below
But now you never show it to me, do you?
And remember when I moved in you
The holy dove was moving too
And every breath we drew was Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

You say I took the name in vain
I don't even know the name
But if I did, well really, what's it to you?
There's a blaze of light
In every word
It doesn't matter which you heard
The holy or the broken Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

I did my best, it wasn't much
I couldn't feel, so I tried to touch
I've told the truth, I didn't come to fool you
And even though
It all went wrong
I'll stand before the Lord of Song
With nothing on my tongue but Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah

THEBESTnightever.

So tonight Sharon, Erika and I went to Hollywood to the Director's Guild for the City of Angels Film Festival. We watched the world premier of the movie 1040. This movie featured big names like MC Hammer, Jaeson Ma (pastor and artist), Van Ness (artist), MC Jin (artist), Mike Bickle (founder of IHOP), Sean (part of Jinusean-artist), and many others. It was a movie about the rise of Christianity in Asia. Pretty well made documentary and I liked it. There were definitely some controversial parts but overall it was good. The best part of the night, for me, was when I got to meet Michelle Phan!!!!!!!!!! OH MY. I was so nervous to go and say hi! She told me to friend request her and even gave me a hug! ahh! I was sooo star struck. But anywho, she's the reason that I even heard of the movie. Michelle Phan is an internet celebrity. She has a youtube channel where she does makeup tutorials. She also does video blogs for lancome and owns her own skin care line. SHES LEGIT. But because of her outspoken faith, I heard of the amazing movie and had an awesome time with two wonderful ladies.

ASK ME more about the night if you see me :D It was filled with cookies, ice cream, and popos.

GOODNIGHT ♥

p.s. now, my life is just that much more complete.

1. I really really really terribly terribly terribly miss Jeremiah.
2. I am yearning for the Hmong community.

4. I have a shoe fetish. I used to think I had a lot of shoes (I have 24 pairs) until I found out my friend has about 100.
5. I usually only wear neutral earthy tones. However, I'm slowly venturing out to the bold side.
6. I have three pet turtles now: Wilmer, Maximus, and Mertyl.
7. My little sister doesn't want to talk to me when I call her.
8. I want to name my daughter Analeigh.
9. I secretly talk like Rachel Zoe. OMG. I die. I die. That is OOC, out of control!
10. I am going to bed now - as soon as I turn off the lights and say goodnight to the boyfriend.

Religion.

http://www.pbs.org/splithorn/story.html

So my friend showed me this site which is a documentary about Hmong people and shamonism. It's a story about a man who moves to America and is struggling with his children who are converting from shamonism to Christianity. In the end, the children come back to the parents and support them...or something like that. But if you go to the "talkback" tab on the side, it will take you to a forum of people who have watched the video. They're comments are ridiculous. It's just crazy to think that there are so many people out there who actually think that way.

There was someone who asked, "So are shamons the only ones who believe in ghosts? Because I have a friend who says they believe in God and they say they don't believe in ghosts."
AHHH. Why are there so many Christians who do not know what they are saying?! Yes, we believe in God and ghosts. But we also believe that God trumps the ghosts.

There was another guy who said that people who go to church are not Christians and that the real Christians are the ones who are unkown because God works through them...(i know i thought it was confusing too)...Yes, some church-goers claim to be Christians, when in their hearts, they really aren't following God. And some people who run the church do not run according to God's plan but their own. But generally, you can normally see people IN THE CHURCH who shine with the love of Christ.

And it's just so disturbing to hear that some people think religion is "all in the mind, and it's all the same. Whatever you believe, it will or will not happen." CRAZINESS.

NO JESUS. WHY YOU HAVE YOU CONVICTED ME?! I am going to make it a strong point from now on to really go and talk to people, ESPECIALLY HMONG PEOPLE.

I've noticed lately, that many Hmong churches do not provide mentors for one another, maybe for pastors or missionaries, but not even for the young ones who probably need it the most. The young age is what defines the Christian walk, most of the times. I read that early high school years is the most common age that people decide to dedicate their lives to long term missions. AHHH!

So, all in all, I'm fed up with the slow awakening of the Hmong church (we have amazing people, but just not enough) and I really need to seek guidance and prayer and then try to make a change.

Goodnight.

p.s. God you can take me now so I dont have to study for ochem tonight. thank you.

So I seriously have N O life besides school and work....and phone banging with my bf. Besides that I'm dying!
Actually, it feels nice, in a weird way. It's just hard to stay ahead and feel like you're behind on staying ahead...know what I mean? However, the semester doesn't seem too bad Y E T. I am pretty excited to see what's in store though! i haven't been eating much because I'm always in class or at work. I'm trying SUPER hard to eat healthier. I also started doing an ab workout. We'll see how long I last doing that.

So it's almost Valentine's Day! What are you doing?!
Spending time with God?
Blowing kisses to someone from afar?
Whatever you're doing...know that I LOVE YOU :D

mylifenow.

I haven't really written much lately. Most of my posts have been pictures or videos.
Well, update on my life:

I spent the weekend by myself as my two lovers went to Santa Barbara. It was actually nice to be here alone. I spent more time with the boys. I've been missing them.

My interterm class isn't going so badly. It's actually a lot of fun. We went over to APU to listen to David Baltimore speak about Tcells and how they can program them to target certain cancerous cells and destroy them. It was pretty exciting because he's a nobel prize winner. He got it when he was 37! That's legit. The best part was the picture that we got to take with him :]

I'm getting a car! Whoohoo. I'm actually excited about this coming semester. I'm finally opening my own bank account too. So far I've been under my parent's old account. But now I have my own!

Gosh, this just proves that I'm getting older. I can't believe I'm turning 21 this year! ah!

Well, my childhood friend Christopher Lo is getting married today. I pray blessings for you and your wife!

Now I'm off to studying more about viruses! I get to write a paper about the herpesvirus! exciting,
So I have a musical crush on David Choi.
Yes. David Choi. The David Choi.

tears.

This video is so precious. Watching it I couldn't help but get teary-eyed. It makes me stop and wonder if I will have a happy future. I know that as long as I trust in the Lord and be obedient to Him, I will. But have I been obedient enough?

This video is from a wedding photography blog I've fallen in love with. Check it out.

Wednesday of Interterm.

So I woke up late this morning but I rushed to class. Got there at exactly 8:00am! yay me! So we are supposed to have a quiz every morning, but our teacher decided to not have it since he forgot to post the ppt slide on blackboard. YAY! AND...there's no more final exam. Just a paper and a presentation.

So the roomie made some delicious chicken currie tonight with green beans and rice.
And our housemate, who was a recent pastry chef, made some delicious red velvet cupcakes!
That is BA-NANAS! (a funny saying that Rachel Zoe says)

FYI: red velvet is one of my favorite types of cake!
So instead of studying for my quiz tomorrow, I'm just sitting around giving myself excuses to study later! AHHH! BUT IT'S INTERTERM! yay!
